The Departure of Alan Oliver

Alan Oliver will be leaving Thailand on the 2nd of September after a number of years working in the World Buddhist University and running workshops under the banner of the Asoka Centre. Hopefully we can continue to cement the loose organisation of people that has been coming together – in many ways this Blogsite is a continuation of the Asoka Centre. Of course, we will be using other premises for gatherings, but there have recently been a few options opened up for us in that score. Pity Alan won’t be around to oraganise and keep everyone focused.

I too wish Alan much luck in the future back in the US.

I only met Alan once when I attended a meeting organised by Alan earlier this year at the Asoka Centre on Buddhist Economics. I heard nothing more. Is there further action on what was discussed?

    Hope you are keeping well,

    All the Best

Congratulations Bill – you are littlebang’s first commenter.

Alan is travelling about currently and so unavailable. He did mention he might come back for a Buddhist Economics conference in November I think. Hopefully he’ll send us information on that conference once he gets settled in back in civilization.
