W.B.U. Forum – Sept. 2nd

The World Buddhist Forum this month will be by Ajahn Bhikkhuni Dhammananda. (note this is an update, as the previous announcement is no longer valid). Here is the official text:


Programme; WBU Sunday Buddhist Forum

Topic;      “What is the meaning of Practice in Buddhism”

Date;       Sunday, September 2nd, B.E.2550 (2007)

Time;       12.00 – 13.30 p.m.

Speaker;    Ven.bhikkhuni Dhammananda (Dr. Chatsumarn Kabilsingh)

Education; Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies from Magadh U, India. M.A. in Religion from McMaster U, Canada

           Work Experiences : 30 years as prof. teaching Buddhist 

           Studies and Eastern 

Philosophy 7 years in TV for Buddhist Dhamma talk program Ordained in 2001 and pioneered a bhikkhuni Sangha in Thailand. Authored more than 60 books both in Eng. and Thai on the subject of History of Buddhism, Environmental concern in Buddhism, women and Buddhism, etc. Also still writes regularly on Buddhist issues for weekly magazine and news Paper. Participated in various International conferences on Buddhism, and Women in Religions since 1979 up to present.
