[summary: information on outing to listen to Ajahn Jayasaro, Pak Chong]
Ajahn Jayasaro is the former abbot of Wat Pah Nanachat, and now lives in Pak Chong, about 2 hours from Bangkok. His talks are popular in both Thai and English. Every month or so he emerges from his retreat to give a talk somewhere. It will be worth phoning to check that the talk will be in English. The information has come as follows:
Dear Friends in Meditation,
You may already know that Storm has organized for Sunday 3rd February another Dhamma talk by Ajahn Jayasaro, the English-speaking Buddhist monk out at the Pak Chong meditation centre.
The day will take the format of previous visits. Arrive at the road-side café at 12 midday for a vegetarian meal and then go as one group to the meditation centre for the start of the Dhamma talk in English and guided meditation session at 1pm.
Everyone is welcome, but if you would like a lift in one of the mini-vans and have not already booked a seat, please phone Storm on 02 539 5422.
If you are coming in your own transport, the directions are:
Take route 1 out of Bangkok, following the signs for Saraburi.
On reaching Saraburi route 1 has a branch off onto route 2; now take route 2, following the signs for Khorat/Nakhon Ratchasima.
Go along route 2 for approx 50-60 kms, at which point there will be an overhead green road direction board, with a sign left for Pak Chong.
The road for Pak Chong is immediately after this overhead sign and the road forks left.
Soon you will pass an Isuzu Car dealership on your left, immediately after this turn left passing under a temple-like entrance arch (there is no visible temple), follow this narrow country road, you pass over a rail track, for approx 2Kms + until you see a small mini-mart on your right, and opposite is the road-side café that is the meeting point for our group.
If you have problems finding the café, phone Terri’s mobile 081 172 9410
