Wat Maha Taht Section 5
At Sanam Luang, Wat Maha Taht is one of Thailand’s most important temples. Section 5 is the Foreign section where foreigners are welcome to go any day. Those happy to take the 8 precepts can usually stay for several days if they wish. There is nearly always someone around that speaks English well enough to give meditation instructions, and the environment is conducive to meditation the day through. An excellent place to start off. There are sometimes talks and classes arranged, but mostly it is a drop in place for information, and meditation instructions. (see map below)
According to newest information they have ‘drop in’ meditation daily from
- 1-4 pm
Accommodation is usually available for those who are happy to keep 8 precepts and wear white clothes.
